Renault has introduced an innovative plug-in hybrid powertrain for the high-performance edition of the Rafale. This new powertrain, based on the car manufacturer's current 200PS 1.2-litre E-Tech hybrid engine found in the Austral and Rafale models, boasts 300PS and comes equipped with all-wheel-drive technology.
The Renault Rafale E-Tech 4x4 boasts a 22kWh battery that allows for a 62-mile zero-emission driving range. Renault states that the car can achieve nearly 50mpg even with a depleted battery, while the official WLTP fuel consumption figure stands at 403mpg.
The combustion engine is paired with three electric motors, with the main motor propelling the front wheels and the second motor powering the rear axle. The third motor not only assists the petrol engine but also serves as a generator to recharge the battery.
With full power engaged, the Rafale E-Tech 4x4 can go from 0-62mph in just 6.4 seconds.

Design and Features
The Renault Rafale is available in three different trim levels: Techno, Techno Esprit Alpine, and Iconic Esprit Alpine. The standard equipment package consists of 20-inch alloy wheels, automatic headlights, a 12.3-inch driver display, a 12.0-inch infotainment screen, a six-speaker hi-fi system, wireless phone charging, dual-zone air conditioning, front and rear parking sensors, a reversing camera, and regen paddles on the steering wheel.
