Škoda Unveils the new Epiq, a Balanced Blend of Design, Functionality and Sustainability

Škoda has revealed its latest foray into the electric vehicle market with the introduction of the Epiq. A futuristic urban SUV crossover. positioned as a versatile option for urban dwellers, the Epiq promises to combine striking design, practicality, and eco-friendliness at an attractive price point.

The unveiling of the Škoda Epiq design offers a glimpse into the company's innovative approach towards electric mobility. Chief Designer Oliver Stefani highlights the integration of Škoda's new design language, Modern Solid, which seamlessly blends smart functionality with attractive aesthetics and sustainability principles. This design ethos is evident in the Tech-Deck Face, a modern interpretation of the traditional radiator grille, housing essential electrical components while exuding contemporary appeal. Here at DreamLease, we like this rugged yet minimalistic approach and look forward to seeing the Epiq in the real.

In terms of dimensions, the Epiq stands at 4.1 meters long, offering ample space with 490 litres of luggage capacity. Its compact size, coupled with a range of up to 400 kilometres per charge, positions the Epiq as a practical choice for urban environments. Moreover, with a starting price of around 25,000 euros, Škoda aims to make electric mobility more accessible to a broader audience.

The exterior design of the Epiq showcases Škoda's signature elements, such as the tornado line and T-shaped LED daytime running lights, while introducing fresh elements like contrasting orange details and a cubist-inspired headlight design. Inside, the Modern Solid design language continues, emphasising simplicity and functionality with features like wireless mobile phone charging and digital key compatibility.

Škoda's commitment to sustainability is reflected in the materials used in the Epiq's construction, which prioritise eco-friendly and recyclable materials. Additionally, the Epiq supports bi-directional charging, allowing owners to utilise the car's battery to power external devices or even their household. While this feature is increasingly prevalent in the electric vehicle sector, its practical utility in real-world scenarios remains uncertain for us here at DreamLease.

Klaus Zellmer, CEO of Škoda, underscores the company's dedication to providing customers with choice and affordability in the electric vehicle market. With the Epiq, Škoda expands its electric model offensive, following the launch of the Elroq compact electric SUV. Looking ahead, the company plans to introduce a total of six new electric cars in the coming years, further solidifying its commitment to sustainable mobility solutions.

The Škoda Epiq represents a significant step forward for the brand, blending cutting-edge design, practicality, and sustainability in an electric vehicle tailored for urban living. As the automotive industry continues its transition towards electrification, Škoda's latest offering signals its readiness to meet the evolving needs of consumers while maintaining its reputation for quality and affordability.
