Leapmotor International, a new joint venture between Chinese electric vehicle (EV) giant Leapmotor and global automaker Stellantis, has made its debut in the UK and Europe with the launch of two electric models—the Leapmotor T03 and C10. This partnership aims to accelerate the sales of Leapmotor's hi-tech yet affordable electric vehicles outside of China, utilising Stellantis' global expertise and vast commercial network.
The T03 is positioned as the UK's most affordable electric car, priced at just £15,995. This compact, city-friendly EV offers a range of 165 miles (WLTP) and features the interior space of a larger segment-B vehicle, making it an ideal choice for urban drivers. Meanwhile, the C10, a family-oriented electric SUV, provides 261 miles of range (WLTP) and premium features, all for a competitive price of £36,500.
The joint venture, with Stellantis holding a 51% stake, is set to expand Leapmotor’s presence globally, starting with Europe, and intends to open 350 sales points by the end of 2024, including 50 in the UK. With plans to introduce a new vehicle each year over the next three years, Leapmotor International is aiming to redefine affordable electric mobility.
Both the T03 and C10 models are built with Leapmotor's advanced technology, emphasising safety, performance, and cost-effectiveness. This marks a significant step in providing economically accessible electric mobility, supporting the global transition towards sustainable transportation.
Stellantis' global footprint and Leapmotor’s expertise in NEV technology promise to make a strong impact on the growing EV market, with plans to expand beyond Europe into markets such as the Middle East, Africa, and Asia Pacific starting later this year.
