History of Jaguar Cars
Jaguar was founded in 1922 and was originally known as the Swallow Sidecar Company. It Manufactured motorcycle sidecars before moving on to creating cars. In 1935, the company changed its name to Jaguar Cars Limited.
Jaguar has always been focused on performance and the first Jaguar car was released in 1935, which was called the SS Jaguar 100. This incredible car had a 3-litre engine that could reach speeds of up to 110 km/h. The SS Jaguar 100 is one of the most expensive cars ever made and it sold for £1,000 at that time - which is worth around £50,000 today. Nowadays these iconic Jaguars fully restored can fetch over £500,000 and are highly sort after in the classic car market.
In 1999, Ford bought Jaguar and released their first SUV called the F-Pace in 2017. This car had a two-litre engine with a top speed of 160 km/h and it cost around £35,000. Recently Jaguar has added hybrids to the range with the PHEV F-Pace P400e.
